Julius Middleton Boyd was an officer of the English East India Company stationed in Western India during the mid-nineteenth century. An album of thirty-six drawings of landscapes and monuments by him, mainly of locales in Western and Central India, is currently in the collection of the British Library.

Reproduced in an album inscribed: 'Sketches in India', flyleaf inscribed: 'Genrl. Boyd, 56 Coombe Rd. S. Croydon'.


Thirty-six drawings of landscapes and monuments mainly in Bombay and Western India, also Rajasthan and Central India, 1880s. Typed title and notes pasted opposite each drawing. The water-colour on f.34 is misplaced and should have been f.36. The mount is inscribed 'This has been accidently wrongly bound up. This should be the last picture in the book'. Watercolour; album 37 x 26 cms
