      1712-1715

    • The buttercup yellow lampas with polychrome brocaded silks, spun and curled silver foliage scrolls decorated with serrated leaves, flowers and pomegranates. This is a marvellous example of a textile woven with semi- naturalistic flowers combined with elaborate ornamentation. A tour de force of both the designer and the weaver's skill. The textile consists of two lengths of just over two meters, each with a width of 52.5cms. excluding the selvedge. For a related textile see: Seidengewebe des 18. Jahrhunderts I Bizarre Seiden: Catalogue Number 150, illustrated on page 275
