This unusual carved ebony and cane work two seat Settee was inspired by the Neo classical fashion in Europe. The profusely carved back over two lift out seat panels, flanked by two large carved scroll arms on four out turned legs. The exuberance of the floral carving would indicate a Batavian rather than a Sri Lankan origin.
